This amazing ancient Yew at Sizergh Castle near Kendal is said to be at least 1600 years old. It really is a beautiful tree and has a certain energy and presence when you approach it through the woodland. Shrouded in history and standing the test of time there is speculation of this tree being linked to pre christian pagan people of the local area.
